# Setting up a New Table tool

Sometimes, the best way to store data involved in a workflow is within the workflow itself. For instance, if you want to embed a look-up table instead of hosting it in a database or shared data locker, or if you'd like to analyze a table on your clipboard, you can make use of the [New Table](/cascade/tools/import/newtable.md) tool.

## Example - Paste a Wikipedia Table

For example, if you're doing some research on Wikipedia and find some data you'd like to analyze in Cascade, you can copy the data table into your computer's clipboard and paste it in the first cell of the [New Table](/cascade/tools/import/newtable.md) tool, using the appropriate paste hotkey (Ctrl+V, Command+V, etc.).

The column names and data types can then be configured in the tool configuration of the [New Table](/cascade/tools/import/newtable.md) tool in the left-hand panel.

It's important to note that data held in a [New Table](/cascade/tools/import/newtable.md) tool will not be refreshed unless manually updated by the user.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.cascade.io/cascade/cascade-faqs/best-practices/setting-up-a-new-table-tool.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
